There’s plenty room on our card

Young Amber McEwan was adding her name to a giant Christmas card which appeared on the streets of the Capital this week for the public to show their support for Shelter Scotland’s No Room at the Inn campaign.

The campaign aims to put an end to the scandal of children living in bad housing. The charity says thousands of children will spend this Christmas day in temporary accommodation – with many still there by Easter. It is calling on the Scottish Government to introduce statutory standards in temporary accommodation.

Graeme Brown, director of Shelter Scotland, said: “We urge the people of Edinburgh to support our campaign.”
