There's fun and all that jazz at Lothian's Teas in the Park

Jazz fans are being invited to enjoy some tea in the park in Midlothian.

The annual 'Teas in the Park' event in Roslin Glen Country Park is to be held on Sunday, August 1, from noon to 4pm

Last year more than 500 people enjoyed the free event, in the beautiful setting of the River Esk Valley, below the historic village of Roslin.

As well as live jazz, there will be activities such as replica steam engine train rides organised by the Esk Valley Model Engineering Society.

Youngsters will be able to learn about bug-box construction from The Friends of Roslin Glen and the Lothian's Conservation Volunteers.

And there will also be river dipping in the Esk, which will be surpervised by members of the Midlothian Ranger Service.

Councillor Wilma Chalmers, Midlothian Council Cabinet Member, said: "The annual jamboree in Roslin Glen is a highly enjoyable event for the whole family and I would encourage as many people as possible to come and enjoy a day in the park."

The park is about ten minutes walk from the village of Roslin.
