The Meadows Festival is back

A POPULAR festival that was held on the Meadows for more than three decades is to make a comeback after a three-year absence.

The Meadows Festival, which will include bands, circus performers and antiques stalls, will go ahead this weekend.

The event, which also features storytelling for children and craft workshops, will see performances from the likes of the Edinburgh Quartet and Messenger Sound System. There will also be stalls with antiques, vintage clothes, books and food.

First staged in 1974, the festival was held annually on the first weekend of June until 2005 when it was stopped. The resumed event is on Saturday, 10am-5pm, and Sunday 12pm-5pm. Entry is free.
