The government: Big decrease in infections

HUGE progress has been made in recent years to tackle hospital infections across Scotland.

Last month, figures showed C diff rates had fallen by 42 per cent compared with the same time last year. MRSA levels were down nearly 45 per cent.

There has been a tripling of funding to tackle healthcare associated infections (HAIs) - to more than 50 million over three years.
