Thaw is bear necessity of winter

WHILE the snow has been an unwelcome sight for many, it's a winter wonderland for one curious youngster.

Five-year-old Ernsto Sanguinetti, of Marchmont, admires a snow sculpture head which has been created in The Meadows.

The design, which looks like a bear or even animated ogre Shrek, is certainly a work of art but with the thaw on the way its lifespan could be cut short.
