Tenement fire forces woman into top floor jump

A WOMAN was rushed to hospital today after jumping from the window of a top floor flat in a blazing tenement block in Aberdeen.

She woman was injured when she jumped to safety as fire crews arrived to tackle a fire in a first floor flat in the building in Farquhar Road in the Torry area of the city.

She was taken by ambulance for treatment to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but her condition is not yet known.

Fifteen firefighters from Grampian Fire and Rescue Service, some wearing breathing apparatus, were involved in tackling the blaze which began shortly after 5am.
