Tenants set for moving in to new homes

The development of 100 new homes in Tranent - the biggest East Lothian Council house-building project since the 1970s - is rapidly taking shape.

The Muirpark site features 16 two-bedroom flats, 17 two-bedroom houses including two wheelchair accessible bungalows and 67 three-bedroom houses.

The site has been designed using 'home zones' principles, which means that it has been designed for the safe movement of vehicles alongside cyclists and pedestrians. There are also open spaces, a central green and a football pitch. Tenants are expected to move into the first phase of homes this summer.

An open event is being held at the Loch Centre, Tranent, on Tuesday, April 26, from 6.30-8.30pm for anyone interested in the development.
