Temporary team takes up the reins

A TEMPORARY board has been put in charge of the Capital’s marketing body while it hunts for a new chief executive.

The post has been vacant since Lucy Bird quit the £100,000-a-year role in December as result of the fallout from the disastrous Incredinburgh Winter Festival campaign.

Marketing Edinburgh will now be run by a group of senior figures from the city council, Edinburgh Airport, National Museums Scotland and Edinburgh University. The interim team will be chaired by the airport’s director of communication, Gordon Robertson.

He said: “By lending our experience and support, we hope that progress made by Marketing Edinburgh so far gains momentum.”
