The 20-year-old man, identified as Terez S. Owens Jr., reportedly broke into a friend’s house in Bethlehem around 2 o’clock on Sunday morning, damaging a door and stealing Chinese takeaway from the fridge, which he hid in a ‘man purse’ before leaving the property.

Police officers caught up with him soon after he left the scene and identified him as the suspect.

The victims initially declined to press charges, but Bethlehem police chief Mark DiLuzio told Pennsylvania’s Express-Times that they changed their minds after input from their landlord.

Chief DiLuzio told the newspaper that the residents ‘met with a detective, and police filed charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct with District Judge Nancy Matos-Gonzalez’ office’.

A summons will be sent to Owens detailing the charges.

Chief DiLuzio added: “Not that many Teletubbies get arrested.”
