Teenagers navigate their way into rally challenge

RALLY organisers were on the lookout for the next Colin McRae at Ingliston today as they allowed under-16s to take part in a major competition for the first time.

The teenagers aged over 14 were allowed to act as co-drivers, responsible for navigating the course at the Scottish Tarmack Rally Championships.

The teenagers also got to meet Edinburgh-born rally veteran John Baird, a stalwart of the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Current Scottish Tarmack Rally Champion Bruce Edwards heads the 45-car entry.
