Teenagers charged over scrapyard fire

TWO teenagers have been charged following a major blaze which led to more than 70 residents of a housing development being forced to flee their homes.

More than 50 firefighters from Tayside Fire and Rescue Service were called out on Sunday night to deal with the fire which damaged 13 flats and townhouses adjacent to the Henderson Kerr Waste Management yard in Dundee.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said: "Two 13-year-old youths have been cautioned and charged following enquiries into the fire at the Henderson Kerr scrapyard. A report is to be sent to the procurator-fiscal."
