Teenager held over man's death in Glasgow street

A teenager has been arrested and detained by police in connection with the death of a man in a Glasgow street.

Patrick Ferguson, 48, of Ashcroft Drive in the Croftfoot area of Glasgow, was discovered in nearby Midcroft Avenue at around 2.30am on Friday.

Officers were called to reports of a disturbance and found the man with serious injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested and is detained in police custody in connection with his death.

Mr Ferguson’s relatives have been informed and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
