Teenager faces hack charges

A TEENAGER from Shetland has been charged with hacking into the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) website, Scotland Yard said yesterday.

Jake Davis, 18, was held last week as part of an investigation into hacking. He is accused of gaining unauthorised access to a computer system, encouraging or assisting offences and two counts of conspiracy to commit offences.

He also faces a charge of conspiring to carry out a distributed denial of service attack - where a website is flooded with traffic to make it crash - on SOCA.

He is due to appear in custody at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
