Teenager died in Aberdeen motorbike crash

A teenager died in hospital today after his motorbike crashed with a 4x4.

The accident happened on the A90 in Aberdeen last night.

Grampian Police said the 19-year-old rider was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but died from his injuries this morning.

The crash took place on North Anderson Drive at around 10.09pm. The man driving the Mercedes 4x4 was uninjured.

The road was closed for more than six hours as the collision was investigated.

Inspector Roddy MacInness, of Grampian Police's roads policing department, said "We would ask anybody who was in the vicinity at the time and may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

"At the present time we do not have a clear picture how the collision occurred and therefore any assistance we can obtain is essential."
