Teenager charged over post office armed raid

A TEENAGER has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery at a city post office.

The 18-year-old male was set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday after being detained by police.

The robbery took place at Muirhouse Post Office on Friday morning at around 7am when a suspect made off with around 70.

No-one was injured. in the incident.

In a separate incident on the previous evening, a shop boss was threatened by a pair of armed robbers who pointed a gun at her. The raid happened at the Meadows Wine shop in Melville Terrace.
