Teenager charged after couple attacked at home

A TEENAGER appeared in court yesterday charged with attempted murder after a married couple were attacked when they confronted a housebreaker at their home.

The 37-year-old husband was stabbed and his wife, who is 38, was left with a cut on the wrist at their house in Saucelhill Terrace, Paisley, on Friday.

The husband was treated for serious injuries but both he and his wife have now been discharged from hospital.

Yesterday, Daryl Dock appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court charged with attempted murder, assault to severe injury, theft by housebreaking and theft by opening a locked motor vehicle.

The 18-year-old, from Paisley, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.

He is the second teenager to be charged in connection with the housebreaking and attack.

Yesterday, Ian Michie appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court charged with attempted murder, assault to severe injury, theft by housebreaking and theft by opening a lockfast place.

The 16-year-old made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
