Teenager attacked by trio of muggers near primary

A TEENAGER was attacked and robbed by a trio of muggers who pounced on him near a city primary school.

The 18-year-old was walking in Saughton Mains Street, near to Stenhouse Primary School, at 2.40am yesterday when two men approached him from behind and punched him to the back of the head.

A third man joined the assault and all three continued to punch the victim, causing him to fall to the ground before he handed over his wallet and the suspects fled.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his head and face.

The first suspect is described as white, 17 to 20 years old, 5ft 9in tall with dark hair. He was wearing a blue zip-up top.

The second suspect is described as 15 to 17 years old with short black hair. He was wearing a red Adidas pullover.

The third suspect is described as white, 5ft 11in tall. He was wearing a black zip up hoodie with a gold stripe design.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone with any information is asked to contact police."
