Teenage girl in attempted abduction

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man tried to abduct a 15-year-old girl by dragging her into his car in Glasgow.

The girl was walking along Tarfside Oval, Cardonald, near Tarfside Gardens when a dark blue people carrier-style vehicle pulled up alongside her around 9.20pm on Friday.

Police said the driver tried to speak to the girl before getting out of his vehicle, grabbing her by the arm and attempting to pull her towards his car. She struggled and managed to break free. The man, who got back into his vehicle and made off in an unknown direction, is described as white, mid-30s, 6ft 2ins, well built, with dark, untidy hair, and a tanned or dirty, unshaven complexion.
