Teenage biker dies after crash with 4x4

A TEENAGE motorcyclist has died following a horrific crash involving a 4x4 vehicle on one of Aberdeen's busiest roads.

The 19-year-old male, still to be named but understood to come from Aberdeen, was rushed to hospital after his Yamaha motor cycle collided on Sunday night with a Mercedes 4x4 on the city's North Anderson Drive, the main ring road across the city.

The teenager, who suffered multiple bone fractures, died from his injuries in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The accident happened shortly after 10pm on Sunday. Police, ambulance crews and firefighters were called to the scene and firefighters had given the teenager first aid before paramedics arrived at the scene. The man driving the Mercedes 4x4 was uninjured.

The dual carriageway was closed for more than six hours.
