Teen held over death of Glasgow cleaner

A TEENAGER has been arrested in connection with the death of a young cleaner in a busy city centre.

Michael Davis, 21, died in hospital after an incident in Glasgow on October 13.

Davis, from the Germiston area of the city, had just finished his cleaning job at premises in Bothwell Street and was walking to his next job in Bath Street when the incident happened in West Campbell Street just after 7.30pm.

His death prompted a major investigation, with parts of the city centre cordoned off and extra police patrols mounted.

Police promptly issued a detailed description of the man they wished to question in connection with the murder of Davis and there was an immediate response from witnesses who saw the incident.

The Crown Office said that an 18-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with the death.

No date has yet been fixed for the court appearance.
