Teen arrested over Coatbridge stabbing

A TEENAGER has been arrested over an incident in which a man who tried to save his neighbour’s car from suspected thieves was stabbed.

The 57-year-old was attacked outside his home in Lefroy Street in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, last Monday.

He confronted three men who were acting suspiciously by his neighbour’s car and was stabbed during the incident.

Strathclyde Police said that an 18-year-old had been arrested in connection with the attack and a report would be sent to the procurator-fiscal.

The teenager is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court in due course.
