Teen admits knife threats while on bail

A TEENAGER has been remanded in custody for threatening two people with a knife while he was on bail.

David Colley, 16, pulled the weapon on shop owner Mohammad Sharif at his Leith Walk Store and told him: "Come outside and I will sort you out."

Colley, of Polmont Young Offenders' Institute, targeted a second man, Yasser Albassam, when he returned to his Gloucester Lane home to collect belongings. Colley rang his door and told Mr Albassam he had left his car window open. When he returned to his vehicle, Colley said "we can do this the easy way or the hard way" and produced the knife.

Fiscal depute Gerard Drugan said the knife was a kitchen knife with a double-edged blade about four inches in length.

Colley admitted carrying out the offences on August 30 last year. Sheriff James Scott refused bail and deferred sentence until later this month.
