Teamwork saves vet nurse course

AN under-threat veterinary nursing course has been saved from closure after Telford College joined forces with some of the Capital's leading vet practices.

The course was one of those under review following government funding cuts.

College principal Miles Dibsdall said: "We are extremely pleased to announce that we are able to continue to offer a number of the courses which initially were under review as a result of the cuts.

"Cutting courses was something which we never planned or wanted to do at Telford College.

"In particular, we knew the veterinary nursing courses were extremely popular, and we were keen to listen to the concerns of learners and the sector."

"Our staff have worked very hard to create a solution which not only will allow us to continue offering the courses, but will also improve the quality of learning that we currently offer," Mr Dibsall added.

"The course has been saved thanks to recognition of the importance of existing partnerships with leading vet practices throughout Scotland."
