Team cycles to London
in five days

A TEAM of 40 cyclists made up of wounded servicemen, serving troops and civilians have completed a 500-mile journey from Edinburgh to London in just five days.

The riders made a triumphant entrance to Wellington Barracks as they completed their fundraising tour of Britain, which will benefit military charity SSAFA Forces Help.

Highlander Craig Paterson, 22, from Inverurie, who suffered a brain injury when he was shot in the head last July whilst serving in Afghanistan and was told he would never walk again, took part.

Laurena di Bello, fundraising and events manager at the charity, who also completed the ride, said: “The last five days have been really tough and have pushed us to the limits of physical endurance. But in Craig we had an epic example of the human spirit and this really spurred us on.”
