Taxis hit by park ad ban

TAXI drivers have been told that cabs with adverts on their sides are now banned from Holyrood Park.

Park bosses moved to tighten up the rules on commercial vehicles in the royal park last month, with police handing out fines to taxi drivers who were not carrying passengers.

Now the council's transport convener, Councillor Gordon Mackenzie, has confirmed that liveried taxis with adverts are also banned, regardless of whether they have passengers.
