Tax credits to be renewed

Residents in the Lothians who have tax credit claims are being reminded by HM Revenue & Customs to renew claims by the July 31 deadline.

Claimants, of which there are around 73,000 in the Lothians, will receive a renewal pack.

Steve Lamey, of HMRC, said: "We ask people to renew their tax credits as soon as they receive their pack to make sure their details are correct."
