PASSING time in the Capital between performances of Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Playhouse, Jason Donovan has been checking out our national dress.

But the ex-Neighbours star yesterday left the manager of Slanj Kilts in St Mary’s Street in a state of fear and alarm after being spotted hovering around the shop.

According to a staff member, the Australian entertainer “looked in, scowled and shook his head”.

That left the store manager fearing his past had caught up him thanks to a Kylie-era misdemeanour.

The worker said his boss was “worried that Jase has found out he swapped his Scott Robinson bubblegum card in the 80s. Can’t be that though. Can it?”

It’s the home of fashion

A CHANGE of pace at the ESPC where, normally in the business of property, attentions have turned to women’s fashion.

Its showroom in George Street was today displaying designer delights ahead of the Italian Scottish Fashion Show Dinner at Gosford House on March 21.

Thankfully for the sake of female first-time buyers’ hard-saved deposits, the items from the likes of Edinburgh’s own award-winning Judy Clark are not for sale.

Having come home to interview Susan Calman for a documentary, he was later left frustrated after boarding a low-budget airline.

He tweeted: “Back of plane crowded. Lots of space further up. Can I move? ‘Well sir, that’s a change of seat & is chargeable’.”
