Take care ticket warning to Take That fans

Take That fans are being warned not to become victims of online fraud in the rush to snap up tickets today for the group's forthcoming tour, which includes two Scottish dates.

The band, newly reunited with their fifth member, Robbie Williams, announced details of the long-awaited tour on Tuesday but fraud squad police officers have already found several bogus websites claiming to be offering tickets. Typical scams see fans pay for tickets that never arrive, or hand over personal details, which can be then used in identity theft.

Detective Inspector Sean Crotty said: "There are huge numbers of Take That fans who will be desperate to get hold of tickets for these concerts.

"However, buying tickets from unofficial websites or agencies could result in them losing money, having their credit cards details compromised and ultimately losing out on the opportunity to see the band," he added.

Take That promised a "feast for the imagination" with their first tour as a complete group in 16 years.

The summer stadium tour around the UK includes two nights at Hampden Park on 22-23 June and four nights at Wembley Stadium after it kicks off next May.

The last time the five-piece performed together was in 1995.
