T in the Park drugs peddler escapes jail

A RECRUITMENT consultant who set up camp dealing drugs at T in the Park was caught with almost £1,000 of ecstasy and cocaine, a court heard yesterday.

But a sheriff let businessman Edward Livingston walk free from court after hearing he would lose his business and house if he was sent to prison.

Livingston, 29, of Glasgow, admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine and Ecstasy to others at T in the Park between 1 and 12 July last year.

Sheriff Robert McCreadie said: "It is disgraceful beyond measure that anyone should participate in such an evil trade.

"However, I note that you are a first offender.

"You are self-employed and in a tenancy, and you do have a lot to lose," Mr McCreadie said.

He ordered Livingston to carry out 240 hours community service and fined him 600.
