Swimming pools to close for refurbishment

SWIMMERS at Xcite Broxburn are set to benefit from a major investment.

West Lothian Leisure and West Lothian Council are spending £70,000 on improving the pool hall lighting, developing a new disabled changing area and carrying out essential maintenance work in the main pool and teaching pool.

Both pools will be closed from Monday until December 19, before closing again between December 24 and January 3. However, the soft play area will remain open until December 24.

General manager of West Lothian Leisure, Robin Strang, said: “The pool opened 35 years ago and is still in good condition. However, the investment is essential to help ensure the high standards are maintained.

“We will also be installing a new disabled changing area.”
