Swim is not a bridge too far

Scottish Gas employee Barrie Cairds looked tired but happy after finishing a swim across the Firth of Forth yesterday.

Nine employees from the company's headquarters in Edinburgh undertook the challenge to swim more than a mile from the Old Town Pier in North Queensferry to Hawes Pier in South Queensferry, to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centres and the British Gas charity of the year, Make a Wish.

They were joined by former Great Britain triathlon champion Rick Kiddle.
