MY FIRST kiss was when I was 13 years old. I was in Westwood Village in Los Angeles and her name was Laura. We have stayed in touch on and off over the years. She's married with two children and is a wonderful person.
I didn't have any pinups on my wall back then. Just posters of Jimi Hendrix and some hippie stuff. I had my first serious relationship when I was 21. I think you can stay friends with your exes, but it depends on the ex.
I'd have to say my grandmother was the most influential woman in my life. When my mother and father were on the road working, I would stay with her and she really helped to raise me. My wife Sue has been a tremendous love and support and a great mother to our son.
I have a lot of respect for women in business. My first manager was an incredible woman who is largely responsible for the early success that I enjoyed. I've always been very comfortable with women.
I don't feel intimidated by anyone, male or female. I have no sisters, but my three brothers are my closest friends and allies. In fact, we are currently working on a new television series. It's the first time we've all worked together. Shaun is writing and producing, Patrick and I star, and my youngest brother, Ryan, is the set/production designer. It's the most fun I've ever had.
I believe in lust at first sight, which can turn to love. I think you know you're in love when you want to wake up and go to sleep next to the same woman every day.
I met my wife when she (and I were] recording for the same record company in the UK. She was invited to my show at Wembley and came backstage with the record company executive who brought her, and we connected immediately. That was more than 30 years ago.
It's so long since I've been on a date that I can't even put myself in those shoes. It's arguable that I'm romantic, but you'd have to ask my wife.
I'm not sure how women perceive me, you'd have to ask them. But to say that women are complicated is an understatement. Is it possible ever to know what women really want? You've got me there!
