Suspended boss returns

A COUNCIL manager who was suspended after allegedly criticising his staff on the social networking site Facebook has returned to work.

The Evening News revealed last month that Steven Thomson, a refuse collection manager at the council's Russell Road depot, was suspended following a complaint about one of his posts. It is alleged that he wrote an abusive message on the site, saying that he was "in training" in case he had to "smash" one of the bin men at the depot.

But staff sources have revealed that he has now returned to work.
