Suspect in Bannatyne's shooting case is released

A MAN arrested in connection with a shooting outside a gym has been released pending further inquiries.

Robert Kelbie, 27, was injured after he was shot in the car park of Bannatyne's Health Club in Newcraighall on October 20.

Lothian and Borders Police yesterday confirmed they had arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the shooting.

A Crown Office spokeswoman said: "After careful consideration of all the facts and circumstances, the procurator fiscal decided he should be liberated pending further inquiries. He did not appear in court."
