Surge in city office deals

THE number of office deals in Edinburgh has surged by nearly a third in the last three months.

In the third quarter of this year, 30 per cent more office deals were completed than in the previous quarter.

Among the deals finalised was Creative Scotland moving into Waverley Gate, thetrainline.com moving to Tanfield and both Aquamarine and Dialog Semi-Conductor clinching deals at The Walk.

Geoff Scott, at property firm Jones Lang LaSalle, said: "We predict the year end figure will be well ahead of take-up recorded in 2009."
