Support for piping meet

CELEBRITIES from the world of sport, music and food have pledged their support to the inaugural Edinburgh Pipe Band Championship.

The event will bring together hundreds of pipers and drummers from across Scotland to the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston on Sunday.

Former Scottish rugby internationalist Gavin Hastings, musician Dame Evelyn Glennie and food writer and cook, Lady Claire Macdonald, have backed the championship.

It will be the first piping event to be held in Edinburgh for more than 15 years.
