Supermarket spends £150k on new look

SUPERMARKET bosses are set to spend £150,000 turning a Somerfield store in Muirhouse into a Co-op.

The Co-operative Group acquired Somerfield following a 1.56 billion deal last year and is now working to rebrand all of its new stores.

The company said work to upgrade the shop in Pennywell Road would guarantee 25 jobs. The store's new look will be unveiled on Friday.

"Customers are welcoming the changes and benefits shopping at The Co-operative brings, including our ethical trading policies which underpin our product ranges, price reductions and our cash back dividend scheme."
