Sundial goes for clean-up

A COMMEMORATIVE sundial in Loanhead Memorial Park has been taken away to be cleaned up and refurbished.

The historic memorial was the subject of a police investigation in May when it was stolen from its plinth. The sundial, to commemorate a visit to Loanhead by the Queen 50 years ago, was mysteriously returned two weeks later.

Councillor Wilma Chalmers said: “We wanted to tell local residents in case anyone worried it had been stolen.”
