Sun shines at hotel awards

OWNERS and staff at The Sun Inn in Midlothian are celebrating after it picked up three awards at the Scottish Hotel Awards.

For the second year running, the boutique hotel and gastro pub in Lothianbridge won Gastro Pub of the Year.

Head chef Ian Minto took the Chef Medaille D'Or award, while pastry chef Maxine Cramb won this year's Ptissire Gold Medal.

Manager Craig Minto said: "It is always great to be recognised for the hard work and long hours put in by all the staff at The Sun Inn, and we are thrilled to have won Gastro Pub of the Year for the second year running.

"The awards for my dad, Ian, and our pastry chef, Maxine, are also fantastic and so well deserved.

"We have always had the best people work for us, so it's great to see individuals acknowledged, too."

The recent awards ceremony took place in the Grand Ballroom at the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow.
