SuBo thief facing jail after no-show

A TEENAGER who wandered into the home of millionaire singer Susan Boyle and stole £9 was facing a jail sentence yesterday after failing to appear in court.

Scott Millar, 16, left the Britain's Got Talent star terrified when she returned to her home in Blackburn, West Lothian, to find him running down her stairs. Millar was set to appear for sentence yesterday at Livingston Sheriff Court, but his lawyer claimed heavy snow stopped him reaching court.

Millar, of Fulmar Brae, Livingston, earlier admitted wandering through SuBo's home in January, looking in rooms, and taking 9 from a pair of trousers. The court deferred sentence on Millar in June and ordered him to save at least 110 from his 71 a week benefits and bring the money to court in six months, with 100 going to a charity of Boyle's choice, and the other 10 repaying the money. If he fails to bring the money next week, he could be jailed, the sheriff warned.
