Students in course boost

COLLEGE students who saw their chance of progressing to university slipping away have been thrown a lifeline following moves by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) to allow universities to take on additional students without being penalised.

SFC has agreed with four universities - including Edinburgh Napier and Queen Margaret - that it will relax recruitment limits and the universities will not be penalised for taking on extra students.
