Students get career boost

THE city council is to bring in external education providers to help pupils at risk of leaving school without a job to get a head start in their career.

They will work with fourth and fifth year pupils across city high schools to deliver a national progression award in automotive vehicle maintenance and repair, on top of the current Job and Education Training (JET) work experience programme.

City Education Leader Cllr Marilyne MacLaren said: "JET builds experience and confidence which is exactly what young people need in the job market."
