Students to float art idea

A LARGE cardboard board and a collection of origami paper boats are to go on display at Art’s Complex to mark World Community Arts Day.

The project, which pays homage to the paper boat created by artist George Wyllie, has been organised by the charity Upward Mobility, which provides workshops for adults with learning difficulties. Students working with the charity and others based at Art’s Complex have drawn, painted and printed messages which have been collaged on to the paper boat in response to World Community Arts Day’s motto, “Art as a catalyst for caring and sharing”.

It will be exhibited in gallery one at the arts centre in London Road until Monday.
