Student up for young politician award

A CITY student is in the running to be named Scotland’s Best Up and Coming Politician.

Terri Miller, 17, who represents Edinburgh Northern and Leith in the Scottish Youth Parliament, is one of five MSYPs nominated for the title which will be decided by an online public vote.

Terri, who studies at Edinburgh College, is convener of the youth parliament’s 
justice committee.

She has also played a key part in the parliament’s Scottish Living Wage Campaign and Love Equally, the same-sex marriage campaign, securing more public responses to the Scottish Government’s consultation than any other MSYP. She was nominated last year for MSYP of the Year.
