Student in court over Clegg paint attack

A student appeared in court charged with assault yesterday after Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg was splattered with blue paint at a meeting of members of his party.

The Liberal Democrat leader was splashed with paint during talks with grassroots representatives in Glasgow on Thursday night.

Mr Clegg later made light of the incident, saying it was “no big deal”.
