Student found dead in Poland 'killed by hard object'

A WOMAN with joint British and Polish nationality has been killed while studying in Krakow, police in Poland said.

The body of the 21-year-old art history student, who lived in England, was found lying next to a railway embankment.

Police, who identified her only as "Katherine", said she had suffered severe head injuries.

She had been staying in a flat with relatives during her month-long trip and told them on Friday that she was going out to meet someone. Her body was found nearby at 5am the next day.

Krakow police said: "She had been hit by a hard object on the head. It caused her death."
