Student chief survives vote

A SENIOR official at Edinburgh University Students’ Association has narrowly survived an attempt to oust him from his position.

Max Crema, vice-president of services, faced a vote of no confidence during an emergency meeting at the George Square Lecture Theatre last night.

But 287 students voted against the motion, while 263 backed it. They also voted against a bid to censure student president James McAsh for supporting Mr Crema.
