Street fight hero ends up in hospital

A “GOOD Samaritan” who tried to break up a street fight involving three youths suffered fractures to both his eye sockets after being set upon.

The 55-year-old was punched and hit on the head with a bottle and was taken to Hairmyres Hospital, East Kilbride for treatment. Police appealed for witnesses to the Sunday midnight incident on the town’s Calderwood Road.
