Strategy to cut HIV rates

A NEW sexual health strategy is to be launched to reduce levels of teenage pregnancy and HIV rates.

NHS Lothian's five-year master plan will be fully unveiled at the beginning of next year.

But an early list of goals include reducing rates of STDs and HIV in at-risk groups, such as gay men and deprived communities; encouraging those with infections not to pass them on; and reducing the number of surgical terminations by aborting earlier, where possible.
