Stores to take on 9,000 festive staff

Debenhams is to create 9,000 temporary jobs for the festive season, the busiest time of year for retailers, the firm has said.

An average of 56 jobs will be offered at each of 160 outlets, more than last year, although the number of hours will remain the same. All the jobs will be part-time, running November to January.
